Polling for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections has already been completed. Whereas on April 19, the first phase of polling was held in 102 Lok Sabha constituencies of 21 states and Union Territories. There are now 6 more phases left for the Lok Sabha elections (April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1). Whereas, counting of votes in all Lok Sabha constituencies will take place on June 4.

Now the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is being held on Friday i.e. April 26. 88 Lok Sabha constituencies in 13 states will go to polls in this phase. The states going to polls on April 26 include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will be held in 3 constituencies of Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat in West Bengal in this phase. Incidentally, according to the preliminary schedule, polling is scheduled for 89 constituencies in 13 states, but polling will be held in 88 constituencies. Following the death of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Ashok Valvi on April 9, the Election Commission has postponed polling for Betul constituency in Madhya Pradesh to May 7 (third phase).

Where is the second phase in Bengal?
Polling is currently underway in three Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal – Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat. BJP won 51 seats in 2019 elections
If we talk about the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP won 51 out of 89 seats in the second phase of polling. With this, NDA’s allies won 8 seats. Where 21 Congress MPs won in the last election. Apart from this, the remaining seats went to CPM, BSP and other parties.
