International Desk: French President Emmanuel Macron has commented that Europe may die at any time if the influence of the United States continues.
For this reason, he called on the European Union to completely withdraw from the influence of the United States, as well as economic reforms, with a view to strengthening Europe.
On April 25 (Thursday), the president of the country gave such a warning about the United States at a university event in France.
Europe is at risk of death, Macron said, pointing to the dire consequences of becoming dependent on the United States in the military sector.
We are not yet ready to face this risk. Military, economic and other pressures could weaken the EU. So Europe must be free from US influence.
He said, there is no defense without defense industry. We have been going through inadequate investment in this sector for the last few decades. We need to build more military equipment. We have to produce fast and we have to produce as Europeans.
The French president, however, has repeatedly urged the European Union to be free from the influence of the United States over the past few years.
He said last Thursday, ‘We need to show that Europe is not subject to the United States and that Europe knows how to talk to other regions.’
Many European leaders disagree with Macron. According to them, at the moment they have no other option but the United States. Others believe Macron is speaking for France’s own industrial interests.
