Daily Education.com Desk: Thailand has been on a fresh alert for heat stroke as it sizzles in a scorching heat wave. The country’s government issued this warning on Thursday, saying that at least 30 people have lost their lives due to heist stroke across the country this year.

An extreme heat warning has been issued in the capital, Bank. Temperatures in the city are expected to exceed 52 degrees Celsius.

The Thai capital recorded a temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The country’s meteorological agency has predicted that there may be almost the same level of heat on Thursday.

For the past few days, there has been a severe heat wave in various countries of South and Southeast Asia. Schools in the Philippines have been suspended due to intense heat. The citizens of the country said that the intensity of the heat was so high that it became difficult to breathe.

Unprecedented heatwave has also started in Bangladesh. Already in different parts of Bangladesh, worshipers have offered special prayers for rain.

Thailand’s Ministry of Health said at least 30 people died of heat stroke in the country from January 1 to April 17. Before that, 37 people lost their lives due to heat stroke in the year 2023.

Direk Khampayen, deputy director-general of Thailand’s disease control department, told French news agency AFP that government officials urged the elderly and those with long-term illnesses to stay at home and drink water regularly.

Southeast Asian countries including Thailand usually have the hottest weather in April. But due to El Nino style weather conditions, it has taken a dire shape this year.
