Dhaka: Gold prices were cut in a day’s time on the back of decline in acid gold (ripe gold) prices in the local market. With this, the price of gold was reduced for three consecutive days.
The price of best quality or 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold has been reduced by Rs 629. In this, the price of one bar of good quality gold has become 1 lakh 13 thousand 561 taka. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be effective from 3:50 PM on Thursday (April 25).
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met on Thursday and decided to reduce the prices. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
Incidentally, with the announcement on April 18, the price of a good quality gold bar has been fixed at Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 638 from that day. It broke all the previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. A new record was created on that day by increasing the price in a single day.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 3:50 PM on Thursday.
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 629 to Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 561. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 595 to Tk 1 lakh 8 thousand 405.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 513 taka to 92 thousand 915 taka. And the traditional gold price of one load of gold has been reduced by 408 taka to 74 thousand 801 taka.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
Earlier yesterday, on Wednesday, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by Tk 2,100 to Tk 1,14,190, the price of 21 carat gold was reduced by Tk 1,994 to Tk 1,900, and the price of 18 carat gold was reduced to Tk 1,994. One thousand 715 taka was reduced to 93 thousand 428 taka and the price of traditional method was reduced by one thousand 377 taka to 75 thousand 209 taka.
Before that, last Tuesday, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by Tk 3,137 to Tk 1,16,290, the price of 21 carat gold was reduced by Tk 3,10 to Tk 1,10,994, and the price of 18 carat gold was reduced by Tk 3,10,994. The price was reduced by 2 thousand 566 taka to 95 thousand 143 taka and the price of one bar of traditional gold was reduced by 2 thousand 76 taka to 76 thousand 586 taka.
