The police recovered the hanging body of an old man named Abdus Chalam Talukdar (65) in Durgapur, Netrakona. The old man’s family claims that he was killed and hanged from a tree due to a land dispute. The body was recovered from North Charigaonpara village of Bakalzora union of the upazila on Wednesday (April 24) morning. The deceased Abdus Chalam is the son of the deceased Ohayed Ali Talukdar of Zaria village of Upazila Purvadhala. Talking to the local people and the family of the deceased, it is said that there was a long-standing dispute over the land of the house with the neighboring neighbors. Due to the dispute, there was a fight between the two parties in the last few days. Because of this yesterday, the opponents cut down various trees in Chalam’s house and threatened him with death. Abdus Salam did not return home when he went to pray early this morning. The family members searched and found Chalam hanging from a tree near the house. After informing the police, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Mosharaf Mia, the son of the deceased Shalam, said, “Yesterday, my father is under house arrest.” Hakeem, Mawla, Ainal, Kalam, Shakib are hanging Myra on the myra tree. I went to pray in the morning and father did not come. I can’t find Abbare after going to the Dehi Abba tree and there is a hanging tree. We want a fair trial. In this regard, Durgapur Circle ASP Md. Akkas Ali said that the body of the old man was recovered and sent to Netrokona Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report.
