Thailand has issued a new warning about heist stroke. 30 people have died in the country so far this year due to intense heat. In this situation, the country’s government has issued a new warning.
As reported by AFP, Thailand’s capital Bangkok recorded a temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday (April 24). The weather department has predicted that the temperature may remain like this on Thursday as well. It is feared that the temperature may exceed 52 degrees during this season. In this situation, a new warning has been issued regarding the extreme heat wave in Bangkok.
Thailand’s Ministry of Health said at least 30 people died of heat stroke in the country from January 1 to April 17. Last year, 37 people lost their lives due to heat stroke in the country.
Direk Khampayen, deputy director-general of Thailand’s disease control department, told news agency AFP that government officials urged the elderly and those with long-term illnesses to stay at home and drink water regularly.
Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, usually have the hottest weather in April. But due to the El Nino style weather conditions, it has taken a terrible shape this year.
According to the United Nations Meteorological and Climate Organization, Asia is warming faster than other regions of the world.
