Death of school student in summer in Noakhali The Daily Star Bangla

A school student died in Begamganj of Noakhali. According to the doctor, he might have died of heat stroke in the intense heat.

Deceased Ritu Sultana (17) of Sadari village of Ward No. 8 of Chaishani Union of Upazila. Ismail’s daughter. Ritu gave the SSC exam this year from the local Chishani High School.

Ritu died at her home around 2.30 am on Wednesday, the family said.

He said that Ritu worked with her mother Rehana Begum in the sun all day on Wednesday. After dinner he fell ill. When Ritu fell seriously ill around 2.30 am, her father called a local village doctor. Later the village doctor came home and declared him dead. He is believed to have died of heat stroke in the extreme heat.

Monir Hossain, assistant teacher of Chaishani High School, said that the death of Ritu has cast a shadow of mourning on the area. She gave her SSC exam this year from science department of Sishani High School. His classmates, teachers rushed to his house on the news of his death.

Ritu’s mother Rehana Begum is crying lamenting the loss of her daughter and says, my daughter could not see her SSC exam results. He used to study a lot at night. He was talented from childhood.

Noakhali Civil Surgeon Dr. Masum Iftekhar said that everyone should be careful in the ongoing heat alert of the country. Those who work on rice in the field or at home should not stay in the sun for a long time. Under no circumstances should you be naked. In extreme heat, salt comes out of the body with sweat. So to avoid de-hydration, drink more water and eat saline and stay in the shade as much as possible.
