Old man dies in Madhavpur dispute over excreta channel, arrest 3

A man named Abdul Hakeem (65) died during a quarrel over the drain for the excreta movement of cow shed in Madhavpur of Habiganj. He is the son of late Abdul Mannaf of Jaipur village of Chaumuhani Union.

The incident took place in Jaipur village of upazila on Wednesday (April 24) morning.

The police recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj morgue for autopsy. In this incident, the police arrested the deceased’s nephew Mahabub Islam (32), niece Sulema Begum (35) and wife Sundar Banu (55).

According to local sources, the excrement of Abdul Hakim’s cowshed was passing by nephew Mahabub Islam’s house. There was a dispute between Cha Bhatija about this for a long time. On Wednesday, two families started quarreling over the drain.

SI Fazlul Haque of Kasimnagar outpost said that when Abdul Hakim suddenly fell ill during the quarrel, Abdul Hakim was rescued by his relatives and taken to Madhavpur Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Rakibul Islam, officer-in-charge of Madhavpur police station, said that the body has been recovered. The body has been sent to Habiganj morgue for post-mortem to find out the exact cause of his death.
