Recently, like the rest of the country, as road accidents have increased in Sylhet division and the number of casualties has increased, a human chain was held yesterday at 12 noon at Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar premises at the initiative of Nischa Sylhet District Branch to seek the Prime Minister’s intervention to bring back order in the transport sector and strict surveillance of the administration to stop road accidents. Saiful Karim Chowdhury Hayat. Speakers in the human chain said that they urged the administration to increase strict vigilance to prevent road accidents recently. The speakers said that the culprits of road accidents should be properly investigated and brought under the law quickly, dividers should be placed on the roads, danger spots should be identified on the regional and highways and warning bill boards should be installed, unfit vehicles should be banned from the highways, and the high court judgment should be implemented to ban three-wheelers on the highways.
