Accident in Kadiya area
This time: Lalbazar has been campaigning for many days requesting that everyone obey the rules while driving a car or motorbike on the road. But the fact that many people do not accept it, came to the fore once again in an accident on Tuesday night in Kadiya area. Around 11:30 pm on Tuesday night, a cargo vehicle rammed into the back of a motorbike near Bridge No. 4 in Kadera. None of the four people on that motorbike were wearing helmets. Bike rider Nasima Khan (45) died in the accident. Nasima’s son Sarfraz Khan, aged 25, is under treatment in the hospital with serious injuries. Sarfaraz’s wife Neha and their three-year-old son Rehan Khan, however, were released from the hospital after initial treatment.

A Calcutta police officer lamented, ‘It is unfortunate that four people were riding on the same bike and none of them had helmets. If there was a helmet, Nasima might have survived.’ Residents of the city complain that there is a tendency to drive without following the rules at night. Their statement is that if there is no adequate surveillance, the trend of breaking the rules cannot be stopped. However, Lalbazar claims that surveillance is being carried out as much as possible.

According to police sources, members of the Khan family, residents of Tiljala, were returning from a relative’s house at Park Circus on Tuesday night. At that time, the car hit the back of the motorbike. All four fell a few hands away. Nasima gets hurt the most. He died at around 3:30 on Tuesday when the locals took him to the National Medical College.
