UN human rights chief Volker Turk is ‘appalled’ by reports of Israel’s destruction of Nasser and Al Shifa hospitals in Gaza and hundreds of bodies found in mass graves discovered there. His spokesperson said.

The Palestinian Authority this week reported finding hundreds of bodies in a mass grave at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. Such mass graves were also found at Nasser and Al Shifa Hospitals after the Israeli forces withdrew.

However, the Israel Defense Forces denied the IDF mass graves.

According to the IDF, based on intelligence that the bodies of the hostages were there, they removed the bodies from the graves in the hospital premises and returned them to the graves for examination. They said in a statement that they did not desecrate the body.

A spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said human rights groups have expressed concern. Because many bodies were found. Some of them had their hands tied, indicating violations of human rights law and international humanitarian law. More investigation is needed into how these people died.

UN human rights chief Volker Turk said the destruction of Gaza’s Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals and the discovery of mass graves after Israeli raids were “appalling”.

Gaza’s Hamas-run Civil Emergency Service said on Tuesday that a total of 310 bodies had been recovered from a mass grave at Nasser Hospital. Two more mass graves were found. But they have not yet been excavated.

Volker Turk also condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza in recent days. He said that women and children were mostly killed in these attacks.
