Police recovered the headless body of Chhatra League leader Mokhlesh Bhuiya after 25 days of his disappearance after the confession of his killer friend in Kishoreganj. On Tuesday afternoon, his body was recovered with a cement block attached to his body from the Kachuripana in the Narsunda river under the bridge in the Watchtower area adjacent to Gurudayal Government College in the district town. The police started a search operation in the Narsunda river with the help of the diving team of the fire service from Monday morning in search of the body. But the body was not found until that evening. After the search was conducted again on Tuesday, around noon, the lungi worn by Chhatra League leader Mokhlesh Bhuiyan, the key of the rented house and the knife used in the murder were recovered. Although there were conflicts, fights and even lawsuits between their two families on various issues, their friendship did not break. Even once when Mizan was injured in a fight, Mokhlesh secretly visited him in the hospital. Mokhlesh Bhuiyan’s elder brother Mizan Bhuiyan filed a police report at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station on the night of March 31, despite searching for him in various ways. Meanwhile, father Mokbul Hossain died of a heart attack on April 13 due to his son’s grief after not finding any trace of his son for a long time. Later, on April 16, Mokhlesh Bhuiyan’s elder brother Mizan Bhuiyan filed a kidnapping case at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station, accusing Mizan Sheikh and 4-5 unidentified persons as defendants on April 16, based on CCTV footage. Since then, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh BPM-Seba, PPM (Bar), the police conducted operations for six consecutive days in different parts of the country, including Sylhet, to catch the accused Mizan Sheikh. At some point, he was arrested from Shaistaganj police station area of ​​Habiganj district on Monday. After that, the sensational murder incident came out during the police interrogation. After Mokhlesh was killed by slitting his throat, cement blocks were tied to his body and his body was hidden under the kachuripana in the Narsunda river in the Watchtower area. Based on the information provided by the killer Mizan Sheikh, the police recovered the headless body of the missing Mokhlesh Bhuiyan on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, in the confession given to the police, Mizan Sheikh said that there are ongoing lawsuits with Mizan Sheikhs in various disputes including land in the village. As a result of Mokhlesh Bhuiyan’s cooperation, the accused in all these cases were released from the court on bail. Because of this, Mizan Sheikh got angry with Mokhleche and committed this murder.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russel Sheikh BPM-Seba, PPM (Bar) said, after killing Mokhlesh by slitting his throat, the killers tied cement blocks to his body and threw him into the Narsunda river under the bridge in the Watchtower area. Apart from the recovery of the body, the knife used in the murder and several evidences have been recovered and seized. As the body is mutilated, DNA tests will be carried out for further confirmation. Besides, Mizan, who was arrested in this incident, gave a confessional statement under section 164 in the court. Appropriate legal action is being taken in this regard.
