College student beaten to death due to previous enmity in Pirojpur

A college student named Syed Russell (22) was beaten to death by the opponent due to previous enmity in Pirojpur. Russell, who was injured in an attack on the road in front of Kadamtala Union Parishad of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila on Tuesday afternoon, died while undergoing treatment at night.

Deceased Russell is the son of Syed Idris Mir of Muktarkathi area of ​​Pirojpur Municipality. He is an honors second year student of Govt Sohrawardy College, Pirojpur. In protest of this incident, protest marches and human chains were held in the city.

It is known that recently a young man named Riazul of Kadamtala village of Sadar Upazila was beaten to death by Russell and his friends. Because of this, they follow Russell at various times to take revenge on him.

Relatives of the deceased said that Russell was returning from a meeting with upazila chairman candidate SM Bayjid Hossain at his house on Tuesday afternoon. On the way back, when they came to the road in front of Kadamtala Union Parishad, Farooq and Gangua, who were already waiting, attacked Russell from behind with sticks. He was seriously injured. Russell was first admitted to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital and later to Khulna City Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. Russell died around 12 midnight.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, his classmates held a protest march and human chain in Pirojpur city to demand justice for the murder of Russell. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station. Asikuzzaman said that the murder case is under process.
