Six road construction workers were killed and 11 injured when a truck overturned on the Sajek-Udaipur border road in Rangamati’s Sajek.
The accident took place around 6 pm on Wednesday. The identities of the dead and injured were not immediately available.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sajek Police Station Debashish Roy said, ‘We heard from the locals that six people were killed in the accident. A police team is going to the spot.’
Chairman of Sajek Union Parishad Atulal Chakma said that there were 17 workers in the truck. Six of them died on the spot, while the rest were injured.
Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhter said that he also received the news of the death of six workers.
Rangamati Superintendent of Police Mir Abu Tawheed said that the deceased were engaged in road construction work on the border.
