A retired teacher named Md Noor Islam (75) died of heat stroke in Rajbari’s Goland.

He died on Wednesday (April 24) at Goland Health Complex.

His house is in Baliadanga village of upazila. He was a retired teacher of a local government primary school.

According to the deceased’s family and local sources, Noor Islam suddenly fell ill in the courtyard of his house due to extreme heat around 10 am on Wednesday. The family quickly poured water on his head. If the condition worsened, he was taken to the emergency department of Golanda Upazila Health Complex. He died shortly after starting treatment there.

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Goland Upazila Health Complex Dr. Shariful Islam told Dhaka Post that an old man named Noor Islam died of heat stroke in intense heat. He also had diabetes.

Goland Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Farsim Tarannum Haque said, old Noor Islam was suffering from diabetes. When he was brought to the hospital in the morning, it was found that the level of diabetes in his body was 19. He later died while taking a blood test for an ECG. We spoke to his family and found out that he was working in the sun. He died due to diabetes and heat.
