Recently, the local Hindu community killed two Muslim workers on suspicion of arson in a temple in Madhukhali, Faridpur. Due to this incident, there is a hot situation in Madhukhali of Faridpur. Locals protested by holding social harmony rallies and blocking roads to demand justice for the accused.
Four platoon BGB members have been deployed from 9 am on Wednesday (April 24) to control the situation.
Confirming the matter, Public Relations Officer of BGB Headquarters Muhammad Shariful Islam said that patrolling is being conducted in coordination with the Magistrates of Faridpur District Administration near Baliakandi Panchpalli of Madhukhali Upazila and Baghate Bazar area with the Magistrates of Faridpur District.
He also said that currently the situation in the area is normal. Along with the BGB patrol, village police are stationed with joint forces including the magistrate.
Meanwhile, three cases have been registered in connection with the thrashing of workers on suspicion of fire at Kalimandir in Madhukhali, Faridpur. Three cases were registered at Madhukhali police station on Friday (April 19) night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madukhali police station Miraj Hossain said that one person has been arrested in this incident. The remaining 10 people are being detained at the police station and are being interrogated. However, it is not possible to tell the names and identities of the accused and the detainees. Details will be given later.
