The people of the country are in dire straits due to the intense heat wave. Many people are getting sick due to intense heat. Many are also dying of heat stroke as they cannot tolerate the heat. Four people died of heatstroke across the country on Wednesday (April 24). Among them, Ishtiaq Waresh Turya, a student of North-South University, and a worker in Barguna. Naya Mia Fakir (55), 70-year-old Nazir Hossain of Chilmari upazila of Kurigram and a retired school teacher named Nurul Islam (75) of Goalande of Rajbari died.

North-South University student Ishtiaq Waresh Turya died on Tuesday (April 23) around 9 pm. His relatives believe that he died of heat stroke due to intense heat wave. North-South University Journalism Department teacher and Public Relations Department Deputy Director Asif Bin Ali told the media this information.

He said that Turya fell ill on Tuesday night and was taken to the hospital. The doctor declared him dead there. His family and relatives believe that he died of heatstroke. We are deeply saddened by his death. He also said that Ishtiaq Waresh was a final year student of the 202nd batch of Finance Department of Turya University.

Meanwhile, while digging a pond in Taltali, Barguna, Md. had a heatstroke due to intense heat. A laborer named Naya Mia Fakir (55) died. The incident took place on Wednesday (April 24) around 12 noon in Khottar Char village of Nishanbaria Union of the upazila. The deceased worker. Naya Mia Fakir is the son of Amir Ali Fakir of Khottar Char area.

According to local sources, Nishanbaria Union of the upazila Khottar Char village said. Mr. Hasan went to dig a pond at Mia’s house. Naya Mia Fakir. He had heatstroke while digging the pond. At that time the locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.

Brother of the deceased. Sobahan Fakir said, he got heatstroke while digging the pond as usual in the morning. Later, we rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty said that he died of heatstroke.

In this regard, the health officer of the upazila health complex. Suman Kumar Poddar said, he died before being brought to the health complex. He is believed to have died of heatstroke due to overheating.

On the other hand, a retired school teacher named Nurul Islam (75) died of heatstroke in Rajbari’s Goland. He died while undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday (24th April) around 11:00 am. His house is in Baliadanga village of Goaland upazila.

Locals said that around 10 am on Wednesday, Nurul Islam was doing daily work at home ignoring the intense sun and heat. When he suddenly fell ill, the family members rescued him and took him to Golanda Upazila Health Complex. He died while undergoing treatment there.

Goland Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Farsim Tarannum Haque confirmed the matter and said that the person was suffering from diabetics and other diseases. In this condition, he suffered a stroke due to prolonged exposure to the sun due to dehydration. He died while being treated at the hospital.

Apart from this, a 70-year-old Nazir Hossain died due to severe heat illness in Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram. Rokonuzzaman Sarkar, a member of Ward No. 1 of that union, said that the incident took place at 7:30 am on Wednesday at Ramna Biparipara village of Ramna Union of the upazila.

Rokonuzzaman said Nazir Hossain’s residence will be acquired from Kurigram district administration for the expansion of Chilmari seaport. He was worried about this.

He said, besides this morning, he was repeatedly drinking water due to heavy rain. At this time he suddenly fell unconscious. He died shortly thereafter. This UP member believes that he may have died due to heatstroke.
