Lover strangles girlfriend in Jessore. But this misdeed did not save his end. The killer was arrested in the operation of the DB police. On Wednesday morning, the police recovered the body of her lover Mitu from Bukwara Baor of Jessore Sadar Upazila.
Locals said that on Wednesday morning, the villagers saw the dead body of a woman wearing a saree lying on the banks of the river. A mobile phone was found with him. They informed the police. The police came and recovered the body.
DB SI Khan Maidul Islam Rajeev said that the deceased Mitu was once a Muslim. His house is at Patkelghata in Satkhira. Her name was Khadija Begum. Later he converted to Hinduism. On Tuesday, she came to visit Jessore with her boyfriend. Then the young man took him to Bukwara Baor area. At one point he was killed by strangulation and left the dead body and ran away.
DB’s SI Maidul said, after that, a team led by him arrested the young man. When asked to know the name and address of that young man, he said that the inquiry is going on, the details will be given after the press briefing.
Meanwhile, a source in Halsa village said that the arrested lover’s name is Mrinmoy. He is also a resident of Patkelghata. A DB team arrested Mrinmoy from Jessore’s Halsa village at 10 am. He later confessed to the police about the murder, the source said.
