Own Correspondent: The price of gold has been reduced a little more in the country’s market. The new price has been reduced by Tk 2,139 for the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams). In this, the price of good quality gold has increased to 1 lakh 14 thousand 151 taka.

This price has been reduced in view of the reduction in the price of acid gold (seasoned gold) in the local market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that the new price will be effective from 4:50 PM on Wednesday (April 24).

Earlier on Tuesday, the price of one load of good quality gold was reduced by 3 thousand 138 taka and set to 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka from that day. Now by reducing the price again, the price of good quality gold has reduced by 5 thousand 277 taka in two days.

According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 4:50 PM on Wednesday (April 24).

Besides, the price of one 18 carat gold bar has been reduced from 1 thousand 714 taka to 93 thousand 429 taka. And the traditional gold price has been reduced from 1 thousand 377 taka to 75 thousand 209 taka.

However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price set by Bajus. Along with that, the minimum wage per shift is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay Tk 1 lakh 23 thousand 358 to buy a piece of 22 carat gold jewelery from tomorrow.
