In Pirojpur, opponents are beating and killing a Chhatra League activist named Syed Russell due to previous enmity.
The incident took place on the road in front of Kadamtala Union Parishad of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila on Tuesday (April 24) afternoon.
Pirojpur Local Municipal Councilor Ziaul Ahsan Tipu Sardar said that he died while undergoing treatment in Khulna at night.
The deceased Syed Russell (22) is the son of Syed Idris Mir of Muktarkathi area of Pirojpur municipality. He is an honors second year student of Pirojpur Govt Suhrawardy College and is involved with the College Chhatra League.
Recently, Russell and his friends beat up a young man named Riazul of Kadamtala village of Sadar Upazila. Because of this, they follow Russell at various times to take revenge on him. Neighbors said that they were reminded of the local Farooq in this incident.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased said that on Tuesday afternoon, Russell was returning from meeting upazila chairman candidate SM Bayjid Hossain at his house, when he came to the road in front of Kadamtala Union Parishad, Farooq and Gangua attacked Russell from behind with latisota. He was seriously injured. Russell was first admitted to Pirojpur District Hospital and later to Khulna City Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. Russell died around 12:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, Russell’s classmates held a protest march and human chain in Pirojpur city to demand justice for the murder.
