The trial of former US President Donald Trump’s bribery of porn star Stormy Daniels has begun in a district court in Manhattan, New York. It is the first criminal case against a US president and the first of several cases against Donald Trump to reach a jury stage.
At the beginning of the hearing, public prosecutor Matthew Colangelo told the court that this is not an ordinary bribery case. Donald Trump actually wanted to influence the 2016 election by bribing a porn star with 130,000 dollars. But Donald Trump’s lawyer refuted Matthew Colangelo’s argument and claimed in court that Donald Trump wanted to keep Stormy Daniels’ mouth shut to protect his family’s honor, not to influence the election. Because Donald Trump did not want his physical relationship with a porn star to be public. It would have dishonored his family.
