A young Bangladeshi named Rakib Hossain (22) died in Rodchapa while working at his workplace in Singapore. He is the son of Mominur Rahman of Village No. 2 Ghiba of Benapole Port Police Station of Sharsha Upazila of Jessore.

It is known that on April 3 of this month, Rakib was seriously injured after being crushed under a bundle of rods while working on construction. He died last Saturday (April 20) night while undergoing treatment for 16 days. His uncle Milan Hossain confirmed this news.

He also said that immediately after the accident, he was rescued from under the rod by the Singapore Civil Defense Force and admitted to the hospital.

Rakib’s father Mominur Rahman said that it has been a year since Rakib went to Singapore. He used to do construction work there. Last April 3 he went to work as usual. At one point around 5 pm while lifting the rod, the rope snapped on him. There the Civil Defense Force and colleagues rescued him and admitted him to the hospital. Panja died last Saturday after fighting death for 16 days under treatment.

Benapole Port Bahadurpur Union Parishad Chairman Mofizur Rahman (Mofiz) said that the deceased in Singapore was a resident of Ghiba village in Rakib Union. He died of a stroke while working in Singapore. Now how to bring his body to the country – full cooperation is being given by the union.
