Everyone is repeatedly drinking water or soft drinks to quench their thirst in the intense heat. Generally, when it is hot, there is a lot of demand for tap water. The sellers said that the demand for dubbing is low even in the unbearable heat. They think that everyone has turned away because of the high price of dubbing. Buyers say that Dub has now become a luxury product. No one buys a dub if they don’t need it very much.

On Monday (April 22), dubbing traders in Dhanmondi 15, Dhanmondi Shankar, Mohammadpur and Rayerbazar areas were seen spending idle time. At that time, there were not many buyers of the dub. A few are seen but many are seen to return due to the price not being reasonable.

The price of the big box is kept at 150 rupees. Even if you want to buy a small size dub, you have to count 100 taka or more. In some places, the price of a small box is kept at 90 rupees.

The sellers say that they also had to increase the prices due to the increase in the wholesale price of dubbing.

Dab seller Faisal Ahmed said, we buy dab from Rayerbazar Sadek Khan market. Even if there are no buyers in summer, we have to buy them at a higher price. I am buying dub for 70 to 80 taka and selling it for 100 taka.

He said, every day I come to the market with 100 pieces of dubbing. I have managed to sell 40 dubs since morning. There are still about 60 dubs left to sell. If there was demand, all would have been sold by now. People are suffering due to heat wave, yet they are not drinking bottled water. Do not play this summer, when will you eat? Maybe because of the high price, there are fewer sales.

Aminul Islam, a buyer of dub at Dhanmondi number 15, said that dub water gives some relief in hot weather. But the price of the small box is 100 rupees. Two glasses of water won’t even cost a hundred rupees. Forced to buy.

Expressing his anger, he said that big dubs are being sold at Tk 130 to Tk 150. Dub has now become a luxury product. Dub now graces the hands of big men. Dub is not really for the middle class like us.
