The half-melted body of Chhatra League leader Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan, who went missing while offering Taravi prayers in Kishoreganj on March 29, was recovered.

The body of Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiya was recovered by the diving team of police and fire service in Narsunda river yesterday from Monday (April 22) to Tuesday (April 23).

The body was found around 4:30 pm on Tuesday (April 23) based on the information provided by the suspected detainees.

The deceased Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan is the vice-president of Kewarjur Union Chhatra League of Haor Upazila Mithamin of Kishoreganj district. He is the son of Maqbul Hossain of Phulpur village of the same union. He has recently completed his master’s degree in Bengali department from Gurudayal Government College, Kishoreganj. Apart from this, he was working as a Peshkar’s assistant in the District Judge’s Court.

Ashraf Ali, the elder brother of the deceased Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan, said that for the last 3 months, Mokhlesh used to stay in Chunnu Mia’s house in Harua Bou Bazar area of ​​Kishoreganj. On March 29, he went missing after leaving his rented house to pray Tarawih at night. Since then we have been searching a lot. The last location was identified through CCTV camera footage of various institutions on the road. Some people can be seen with him in the footage. We believe they kidnapped and killed him.

Earlier, the police said that the lungi used by the deceased, the key of the rented house and the knife used in the murder were recovered from the spot.

On the basis of CCTV camera footage, the police arrested Sheful Sheikh (65) of Kewarjur Union Phulpur village in Mithamin, his three sons Mizan Sheikh (28), Marjan Sheikh (26) and Raihan Sheikh (21) from Shaistaganj in Habiganj last Saturday (April 20) around 11 am. arrested

After the arrest, they said that they killed Chhatra League leader Mokhlesh Uddin and threw him in Narsunda river. After that, an operation was conducted to recover the body on Monday. On the second day today, the body was recovered around 4:30 pm.

Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Golam Mostafa said, based on the information of the accused, the rescue operation was going on since Monday. A semi-decomposed body was found floating in Narsunda river this afternoon. The body will be recovered and sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Legal action is being taken against the detainees.
