After 25 days of disappearance, the melted body of a leader of Mithamain Upazila Chhatra League of Kishoreganj was recovered from Narsunda river. The police said that after killing him by throat, he was thrown in the river.

Based on the information provided by the four people arrested in the incident, the fire service diving team searched the river from Monday morning.

Superintendent of Police of Kishoreganj Mohammad Russell Sheikh said that the body was recovered from under the bridge on the east side of the watch tower in Muktamanch area of ​​the district town on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan (25) is the son of Maqbul Hossain of Phulpur village of Kewarjur Union of Mithamain. He was the vice-president of that Union Chhatra League.

Mokhlesh recently completed his post graduation from Bengali Department at Gurudayal Government College, Kishoreganj. He was working as Assistant to the Peshkar of the District Judge Court.

Superintendent of Police Russel Sheikh said, “After killing Mokhlesh by cutting his throat, the killers tied a concrete block to his body and threw it into the river so that the body would not float away.”

Mokhlesh’s elder brother Ashraf Ali said, “For three months, Mokhlesh lived on rent at Chunnu Mia’s house in Harua Bou Bazar area of ​​Kishoreganj city. He went missing from his rented house on March 29 around 9 pm.

“CCTV footage of various establishments installed on the road was viewed to find out his last whereabouts. In one of the footages, some people are seen with him on the day of the incident.”

According to the police, on April 16, Ashraf Ali filed a case at Kishoreganj Model Police Station as a plaintiff. In this, five unidentified people including Mizan were accused.

Police arrested Sheful Sheikh and his three sons Mizan Sheikh, Marjan Sheikh and Raihan Sheikh of Kewarjur Union Phulpur village in Mithamin from Shaestaganj upazila of Habiganj on Saturday based on CCTV footage.

During the initial interrogation, Mizan Sheikh told the police that Mokhlesh was killed and thrown in Narsunda river.

Meanwhile, Mokhleche’s father Maqbul Hossain died of cardiac arrest on April 13 after hearing the news of his son’s disappearance.
