Police said that a student committed suicide by jumping from the roof of a student hostel in the capital’s Mirpur. Her name is Radia Teherin Utsah (19). He was a first year student of BA (Honours) Mirpur Bangla College. She was a transgender woman.

It is known that Radiya’s village is in Bakshiganj Upazila of Jamalpur district. Father’s name is Saiful Islam. Along with studies, she worked as a beautician.

After her death, her well-wishers say that Radiya Tehrani Oshta did not actually commit suicide. He was killed. This society and its people killed him. Who or what has made people’s lives unbearable. Sharif Sharifa who raised the issue. Bullying regularly. Everyone is responsible for this death.

A person named Muntasir Rahman came live on Facebook and said, Radia Tehran origin is a transwoman. He committed suicide by jumping from the 6th floor roof of the hostel. It’s not suicide, it’s murder. Family, society, transphobia prevailing in the country, hatred, harassment, attacks are responsible behind it. You have to take responsibility for it.

Meanwhile, before her death, Radia Tehran source gave a status on Facebook. There he wrote, I am going to commit suicide tonight. I tried so hard to delete my social media accounts but I couldn’t. I have unlocked all my phone, please delete all my accounts if someone calls me.

It is known that on Monday (April 22) around 8:00 PM, student Radia jumped from the 6th floor of Mirpur 10th Mahua Manjil Mishila Women’s Hostel and fell down. Later, he was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.

SI Mainul Islam of Mirpur Model Police Station said that Radia used to study in Mirpur Bangla College in honors first year (Bangla Department) from Teherin Xiziya Hostel.

He said, initially it is known that today, Radiya jumped from the sixth floor of the exceptional women’s hostel and fell down. He was later taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital where he died. Details of the incident including the cause of death are being investigated.
