Three teenagers died while bathing in Padma river near Paba upazila of Rajshahi. They are students of a madrasa in Shyampur.

On Tuesday (April 23) afternoon, they went down to bathe at Shyampur Balur Ghat of Upazila and disappeared. After that, the bodies of three people were recovered at quarter past three.

The deceased students are Rentu’s son Manhoos Yuvraj (14), Noor Islam’s son Nuruzzaman (15) and Liton’s son Arif (14). They are residents of Paschimpara area of ​​Ward No. 5 of Bakhrajap Union of Katakhali Municipality.

Deputy Director of Rajshahi Fire Service Obaidul confirmed the truth of the matter and said that they disappeared after going down to bathe in Padma River at Shyampur Balur Ghat of Paba Upazila. After receiving the information, the fire service diving team went to their rescue. The body was recovered and kept in Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital morgue.

Locals said that seven teenagers went down to bathe in Padma river together. At one point, three people fell into the water. The remaining four tried but could not rescue anyone. On receiving the information, the fire service personnel came and recovered the bodies of the three. This incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the area.

In this regard, the senior station officer of Rajshahi Sadar Fire Service, Abu Sama, said that the bodies of the three missing persons who had bathed in Padma have been recovered and handed over to their families.
