Police recovered the body of a youth named Mukhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan (25) after 25 days of disappearance in Kishoreganj.

The body was recovered from Narsunda river with the help of locals around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.

Mukhlesh Uddin is the son of Maqbul Hossain, a farmer of Phulpur village in Kewarjord union of Mithamain upazila of Bhuiyan district. He was joint general secretary of Chhatra League in the union. He recently completed his Masters in Bengali from Gurdayal Government College, Kishoreganj and was a lawyer’s assistant in the District Judge’s Court.

According to the police, Mukhlesh and his son Bella’s friend Mizan Sheikh (28) offered Tarabi prayers together at Pagla Mosque on March 29 during Ramadan. After that, you have dinner with a friend at his house. In the middle of the night, Mizan went out for a walk in the city with a tricked mask. Later, he was taken to the Mukta Mancha adjacent to Gurudayal College in Kishoreganj. There they were slaughtered by slitting the throats of the relatives waiting there. The killers tied his body to a cement block and drowned it in the Narsunda river.

It is known that the main suspect arrested after Mukhlesh’s disappearance, based on the confession of his friend Mizan Sheikh, the police had been trying to recover the body from Narsunda river since Monday. On the first day they found no bodies in the river. Around 3 o’clock on Tuesday, the police recovered Mukhlech’s lungi, the key of the rented house tied to the lungi and a knife. After that, when the operation was accelerated, Mukhlech’s body was recovered after an hour.

According to sources, Harua lived in a rented house in Boubazar area of ​​Mukhlesh city. On the other hand, Mizan Sheikh is the son of Seful Sheikh of Phulpur village in Mithamain. In this incident, the police arrested Mizan Sheikh’s father along with his two younger brothers Marjan Sheikh (26) and Raihan Sheikh (21). They were arrested from Shaiestganj of Habiganj district.

The police said that the murder was due to a family and land dispute.

In the afternoon after the recovery of the body, Mizanur Rahman, the brother of the deceased Mukhlech, complained that his brother was killed in a planned manner.

Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Mostafa said that Mizanur Rahman made a general diary (GD) on March 31 after his disappearance. Then the family of the missing youth provided the CCTV footage of Harua area that night. Mizan Sheikh is also seen with Mukhlech in the CCTV footage. Taking the matter into consideration, the police intensified the investigation. Following this, a case of kidnapping and disappearance was filed in the police station. Police arrested Mizan Sheikh from Shaistaganj of Habiganj district on Saturday. His father and two younger brothers were also arrested.

Quoting Mizan Sheikh, the police said that he was killed in a planned manner. After cutting the throat and separating the head from the body, the stomach is torn open so that the body does not float away. Moreover, brick-cement CC blocks are tied to the body.

Superintendent of Police of Kishoreganj Mohammad Russell Sheikh said that the arrested Mizan has named several people involved in the murder. However, the police are checking and investigating them. Other detainees belonging to Mizan Sheikh’s family are being interrogated.
