Kishoreganj: The police recovered the body of a Chhatra League leader named Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan (28) from the river after 25 days of disappearance. On Tuesday (April 23) afternoon, the body was recovered from the Narsunda river in the watch tower area adjacent to Gurdayal Government College in Kishoreganj.

Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan is the son of Mokbul Hossain of Phulpur village of Kewarjord union of Mithamain upazila. He was the vice-president of the Kewarjod Union Chhatra League of the upazila. He also worked as a lawyer’s assistant in Kishoreganj court.

It is known that on the night of March 29, Mokhlesh disappeared from Chunnu Mia’s rented house in Harua Bau Bazar area. The police arrested one of the accused after seeing various CCTV footages of the area. According to him, Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan was killed and his body was thrown in Narsunda river. Based on that information, the police launched an operation to recover the body.

From Tuesday morning, police and fire service diving teams and local fishermen launched an operation to find the body of Uddin Bhuiyan, who was found in the Narsunda river. The body was recovered later in the afternoon.

Ashraf Ali, the elder brother of the missing Mokhlesh, said that for 3 months, Mokhlesh lived on rent in Chunnu Mia’s house in Harua Bou Bazar area of ​​Kishoreganj city. He disappeared from his rented house on March 29 at around 9 pm. His body was found on Tuesday. I want my brother’s killers hanged.

According to the police, the last location of the deceased Mokhleche was identified through CCTV camera footage of various institutions on the road. Some people are seen with him in CCTV footage. Based on the footage, the police arrested one person. The arrested person told the police that Chhatra League leader Md. Mokhles Uddin was killed and thrown into Narsunda river. On the basis of that information, the recovery operation was conducted. The body of Chhatra League leader Mokhleche was recovered on Tuesday afternoon.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh said the body was recovered from Narsunda river. Lungi and keys worn by the deceased were also found. It is understood that this is a murder. One person has been arrested and handed over to the court. Those who are involved in this incident will also be brought under the law soon.
