The Standing Committee on Women and Child Affairs of the Jatiya Sangsad has recommended the Ministry to take necessary steps to determine the economic value of women’s domestic work.
The second meeting of the committee was held at Sangsad Bhawan on Tuesday (April 23) chaired by committee president Sagufta Yasmin.
Committee member and Minister of State for Women and Children Affairs Simin Hossain (Rimi), Md. participated in it. Abdul Aziz, Shahida Tarek Dipti, Parul Akhtar, Moosa. Tahmina Begum, Mohammad Zillur Rahman, Rezia Islam and Sabera Begum.
In the meeting, the decisions taken in the 41st meeting of the 11th National Parliament and the confirmation of the minutes of the last meeting and the progress of implementation were discussed in detail.
The meeting recommended making the DPP more practical in recruitment of teachers to speed up karate training programs under the youth club setting up scheme at the union level and increase campaigns on laws to prevent domestic violence, prevent child marriage and stop sexual harassment.
On the other hand, the ministry was recommended to write a letter to the CEO of the channel as the report on the youth club aired on a private channel proved to be wrong.
