Daily Education.com, Comilla: The police recovered the body of Nusrat (12), a 6th class student of Qari Azgar Ahmed International Islami Madrasah in Daudkandi, Comilla. On Tuesday (April 23), Gouripur outpost police recovered his body from a pond in Bhulirpar village. Nusrat’s family admitted him to the madrasa just 4 days ago.
Nusrat is the child of Rabiul Mia of Haydankandi village of Titas Upazila. On April 19, he was admitted to this residential madrasa by paying Tk 4500.
SI of the outpost. Farooq Hossain said, four days after admission, the madrasa authorities asked the girl’s parents to come to the madrasa on an urgent basis. Authorities said Nusrat had committed suicide when they reached the madrasa.
SI Farooq, quoting the teachers, said that Nusrat left the madrasa secretly with the key of the gate sometime late on Monday. Nusrat’s brother Fazle Rabbi also studied in the same madrasa. He was also in this madrasa that night.
Maulana Abu Bakr Siddiqui, principal of the madrasa, said that he was not present in the institution on the day of the incident, so he did not know anything about it.
On the other hand, Sonia and Tahmida, the two teachers in charge of female students in the madrasa, also said that they do not know anything about Nusrat.
In this incident, Nusrat’s mother Morsheda Begum lost consciousness and fainted again and again. He claimed that Nusrat did not commit suicide, she had scars on her hands and feet and was bleeding from her nose, she was tortured to death.
The body has been sent to the mortuary in Comilla and a police investigation is underway to unravel the mystery of the death. No arrests have been made till the writing of this report.
