Body of Chuet student killed in road accident handed over to family in Narsingdi

‘I was told, I will go abroad as an engineer. I will be treated. Who will treat me now, where did my engineer go? Give law to my son.’

On Tuesday (April 23) morning, Shanta Saha, the deceased Chuet student’s body, reached her home in Sevasangh area of ​​West Kandapara, Narsingdi.

Earlier on Monday (April 22), Shanto Sahar (21), a student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE), died in a motorcycle accident after being hit by a bus.

Shanto was a third year student of the Civil Engineering Department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE).

Shiuli Saha said, ‘I don’t have children anymore, I don’t want to live anymore.’

He also said, ‘The boy told me that I should pass engineering and go abroad and take you abroad for treatment. Who will tell me this now?’

Shantar’s father Kajal Saha, a cloth merchant of Shekerchar Bazar, is unable to find the language to express his pain. He said, ‘There was a lot of hope about the boy. Road accident ruined everything for me. The son said that if I finish my studies, you will not have to suffer for the family anymore. But today everything is over for me.’

Shanto returned to the university campus last Sunday after the holidays of Eid-ul-Fitr and Pahela Baishakh. On Monday around 4:30 pm Shantar’s classmates told the news of the death of his elder brother bank officer Kaushik Saha.

Shant is the youngest among the three brothers. His elder brother Partha Saha is a student at a university in India. Elder brother Kaushik Saha said Shanta’s body will be buried on the banks of Meghna river in the city when he returns home.

Shanto and another student of Chuet were killed after being hit by a motorcycle on Kaptai road in Chittagong.

The accident took place at Selina Quader Chowdhury College area of ​​Chittagong Kaptai Road around 3:30 pm on Monday (April 22).

After the post-mortem, Shanta’s two assistant provosts and seven classmates brought Shanta’s body to Narsingdi on the initiative of the university authorities at around 6:30 am on Tuesday.
