Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami strongly condemned and protested the incident in which many people were injured due to police firing at the protest rally of two Muslim brothers who were beaten to death in Panchpalli village of Dumain Union of Madhukhali, Faridpur.

On Tuesday (April 23), Secretary General and former MP Prof Mia Golam Parwar issued a statement in this regard.

In the statement, he said, “On the evening of April 18, two Muslim brothers were beaten to death without any investigation and evidence in Panchpalli village of Dumain Union in Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur district.” A peaceful rally was organized today in Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur to protest this brutal and barbaric incident. Completely unprovoked, the police opened fire on this peaceful assembly. Many people were injured in police firing. This attack by the police is very despicable, inhuman and barbaric. We strongly condemn and protest the attack on the assembly.

He also said, I pray for the forgiveness of the souls of those who were killed on April 18 and express my deepest condolences to the families of the dead and injured.

We call upon the concerned authorities to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident in Madukhali and bring the responsible persons under the law and provide strict punishment and provide appropriate financial compensation to the families of the dead and injured and proper treatment of the injured.
