Farhan Ahmed Jovan starrer ‘Rupantar’ drama is at the end of criticism. The transgender themed drama is directed by Rafat Majumdar Rinku. This time, a case has been filed against 6 people including Jovan, the actor of the play.
A case has been filed in the Senior Judicial Magistrate No. 1 Amli Court, Noakhali against 6 people including the actor-actress, director of the drama “Panwaran”. Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Kausar Ul Jihad is the plaintiff in the case.
Producer Rafat Majumdar Rinku spoke about the drama after the YouTube channel Ekanna Media removed the drama. According to him, the audience may not have understood the concept of the play. He said, ‘I see a lot of things on the social media about the matter, actually I don’t want to comment on the matter.’
On social media, the audience complained in various statuses and comments saying that the ‘transgender’ issue has been promoted in this drama directed by Rafat Majumdar Rinku. Due to this, netizens are bashing Jovan, who played the central role, online for the past few days.
Apart from this, Facebook pages of both Jovan and Samira Khan Mahi have disappeared. Jovan’s 19 lakh page and Mahi’s 24 lakh like-followed page are no longer found on Facebook.
Criticism started after the release of the play ‘Rupantar’ on YouTube. Numerous posts and millions of reactions came against the play. The drama was removed from YouTube following severe criticism.
Jovan said, I don’t understand why there is such criticism about the play. The drama had ninety thousand views. Then the rest of the people have not seen! I think they are criticizing without seeing. I am confused about this. I don’t understand what’s going on. These cannot be done anymore because people don’t like it. I will not do them from now on.
Jovan also expressed his grief about it with a video message to netizens or his followers.
Apart from Jovan, Samira Khan Mahi played the lead female role in the drama ‘Rupantar’. It also stars Saberi Alam and Pemana Masuk.
