The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBIE) has solved the mystery of the rape of a 7-year-old child in Chauhali, Sirajganj, after 7 years. Cousin Chhabbir handed over cousin Subarna to friends for rape in a contract of only 7 thousand rupees. Later, he along with his friends raped and killed his cousin.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has revealed the mystery of gang-rape and murder of child Subarna (7) in Chauhali Upazila of Sirajganj after seven years. Chhabbir Hossain (20) and Shakeel Khan (21), the uncles of the two accused children arrested by the police, gave such information during interrogation. They have also given a statement under section 164 in the court.
PBI Police Superintendent Rezaul Karim gave this information in a press conference at Sirajganj PBI office at around 11:00 on Monday (April 22).
Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim said that in 2017, the child Subarna went to see a cultural program on the occasion of the Great Independence Day in Dattakandi High School grounds of Chauhali Upazila. There, Milan Pasha, son of Rashid member of Dattakandi village and other accused saw child Subarna with Chhabbir Hossain. Then the accused planned to rape the child Subarna. They offered to pay 7 thousand taka to Chhabbir Hossain for raping the child. Agreeing to the proposal, Chhabbir Hossain took the child Subarna to the Central Shimulia fodder crop field. There everyone including him gang-raped the child.
Meanwhile, the child kept crying and repeatedly said that he would tell everyone about the incident. The rapists then planned to kill the child and suffocated her with a veil and left the body behind. In this incident, the child’s father filed a case at the police station accusing unknown persons. Later, PBI was given the responsibility of investigating the case.
PBI reviewed victim Suwarna’s postmortem report and post-mortem report and found that child Suwarna was strangulated to death. DNA tests also found the presence of semen on child Subarna’s padan clothes.
On April 19, PBI confirmed through information technology and intelligence information that Chhabbir Hossain (20), the brother-in-law of Shishu Subarna, was arrested and interrogated from Shyamoli, Dhaka. Later, based on the information given by him, a youth named Shakib Khan (21) was arrested from Dattakandi of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. Later they admitted the responsibility of the murder and gave a statement under section 164 in the court. Later the court sent them to jail.
PBI Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim said over the phone that cousin Chhabbi handed over the cousin child Subarna to them for rape in return for a contract of 7 thousand rupees, but the accused did not give him even that money. Also, along with cousin Chhabbi, he himself raped and killed his cousin. An operation is underway to arrest the rest of the accused in this incident.
