Housewife Sushmita (23) was killed and hanged at Delduar in Tangail. The incident took place in Masuria village of Elasin Union of the upazila on March 14 this year. The wife’s husband hangs the body and sends word to the in-laws’ house to continue a premeditated murder as suicide.
Later the police recovered the body. A case of wrongful death was filed with the police station in this regard.
It is known that Sushmita, daughter of deceased Kamrul Islam Molla of Char Pakulla village of Tangail Sadar upazila, got married to Yusuf Sarkar, son of Azizul Haque Azu of Masuria village of Elasin Union, 5 years ago.
It is known from Sushmita’s family sources that since marriage, she was mentally tortured several times.
Officer-in-charge of Delduar police station Pradyut Sarkar said that before I joined the police station, a death case was registered. The final post-mortem report of the case came to the police station on April 21, on the basis of which the victim’s mother Josna Begum filed a murder case on Monday night. The main accused in the case, husband Yusuf Sarkar, has been arrested and sent to the court with a 10-day remand application.
