Dhaka: A person named Alamgir Sikder (56) died of heatstroke in the capital. On his way to work, he came to Gulistan and fell down on the road when he got out of the car.

Alamgir Sikdar was rescued unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:15. Then the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Wari Police Station Shah Alam confirmed the matter and said that it is believed that he died of heatstroke. Quoting the people around the scene, he said, the man left the house for work. Gulistan was walking down the car at the toll plaza. Mymensingh: Phulpur Upazila in Mymensingh. A Shilpata worker named Ramzan Ali (68) died. The death occurred in Imatpur village of Koira Union number 6 of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased Ramzan Ali was a resident of Bagirpara village of Kakani Union number 3 of Tarakanda Upazila.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Humayan Kabir said, ‘Ramzan Ali died before coming to the hospital. However, the exact cause of his death is not known. He is believed to have died of heatstroke due to excessive heat.’

Sirajganj: Two farmers have died in Sirajganj. Farmer Afsar Ali (65) died of heat stroke while working in the field at Kalupara of Naogaon Union of Tarash Upazila on Tuesday morning and Payar Bepari (75), a farmer of Patagram of Gandhail Union of Kazipur Upazila, died of heat stroke in the afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said that on Tuesday morning, Afsar Ali left home to do agricultural work in the field. Later he died on the spot due to heat stroke while working.

He fell ill suddenly on Monday (22 April) at around 9 pm. He was taken to Baufal Hospital in an ill condition and from there he was sent to Barisal. He died before reaching Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barisal.

Doctors at the emergency department of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital confirmed to his family on Tuesday that he had suffered a heat stroke.

Natore: A farmer named Rakul Hossain (30) died of ‘heat stroke’ while working in the afternoon field at Baraigram in Natore.

The incident took place at Satil Bill of Chandai Union of the upazila around 12:30 pm on Tuesday. He is the son of Haji Abdur Rahim of Garfa Uttarpara village.

Chandai UP Chairman Shahnaz Parveen said that Bakul was working in the agricultural land since morning. Unable to bear the intense heat, he fell ill at one stage of the work. When he felt ill, he tried to go to the nearby reservoir but could not reach it, but fell and died on the way. Other farmers came to know the matter and rescued the body and brought it home.

Comilla: A laborer named Mojibur Rahman (45) died of heat stroke in Comilla’s Burichong.

He died of heatstroke on Tuesday due to heatstroke. The deceased is the son of Alfaz Uddin of Nizam Haji’s house of Jagatpur village of Sadar Upazila of Mujibur.

Earlier, one person died in Chittagong last Friday, one each in Dhaka, Pabna and Chuadanga on Saturday, two in Dinajpur on Sunday and one each in Pabna, Meherpur, Narsingdi, Shariatpur, Jhalkathi and Sylhet, two in Chuadanga and one in the capital on Monday.
