The country needs $534 billion by 2050 to combat climate change. Therefore, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said that international financial support is essential for the implementation of the climate plan.

He said this at the ‘Advancement of National Climate Plans of Bangladesh’ session on the second day of the four-day United Nations Climate Adaptation Conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Sher Bangla Nagar of the capital on Tuesday (April 23) afternoon.

The Environment Minister said Bangladesh is committed to working with international partners to build climate resilience as it continues to face the effects of climate change.

He also said that the government is working vigorously to advance climate adaptation efforts and ensure a sustainable future for all citizens.

Saber Hossain said that the importance of proactive action, collaborative efforts and innovative solutions to face the challenges of climate change should be emphasized.

The session was chaired by the Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Farhina Ahmed. At this time, the executive director of CEGIS Fida A Khan, additional secretary of ERD AKM Sohel and Dr. M Asaduzzaman.
