A childhood friend was killed by slitting his throat in Kishoreganj
Farukuzzaman, Kishoreganj: [২] Police recovered the melted body of a Chhatra League leader after 25 days of his disappearance in Kishoreganj. After the murder, his body was thrown in the Narsunda river, said a friend of the deceased who was detained by the police.
[৩] The police conducted an operation in Narsunda river from yesterday Monday to 4 pm today and recovered the body of the missing Kewarzor Union Chhatra League Joint General Secretary Mokhlesh Uddin Bhuiyan (25). Earlier, the lungi used by the deceased, the key of the rented house and the knife used in the murder were recovered from the spot.
[৪] The deceased Mokhlesh Uddin is the son of farmer Maqbul Hossain of Phulpur village of Kewarjor union of Mithamain upazila of Bhuiya district.
[৫] He recently completed his master’s degree in Bengali department from Gurdayal Government College, Kishoreganj and was working as a lawyer’s assistant in the District Judge’s Court. Lived in a rented house in Harua Boubazar area of the district city.
[৬] Mokhlesh Uddin went missing on his way back after performing tarabi prayers at Pagla Mosque in the district city on March 29. His elder brother Mizanur Rahman filed a General Diary (GD) at the Kishoreganj Model Police Station on March 31, after much searching.
[৭] Later, on April 16, he filed a kidnapping case accusing 5 unidentified persons in the incident.
[৮] Based on the CCTV camera footage of the scene, Mizan Sheikh (28), his father Sheful Sheikh (65), Mizan’s two brothers Marjan Sheikh (26) and Raihan Sheikh (21) were found missing from Shaistaganj area of Habiganj at 11 am on April 20. ) was arrested.
[৯] Mizan Sheikh gave the initial information that the Chhatra League leader was killed after being arrested and thrown into the Narsunda river.
[১০] Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Golam Mostafa said, according to the confession of the victim’s friend, the rescue operation was going on since Monday. A semi-decomposed body was recovered from the river Narsunda at around 5 pm on Tuesday. Mizan Sheikh, the friend of the deceased, initially confessed to the murder. The body was recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy.
