Dhaka: The Standing Committee on Ministry of Women and Child Affairs of the 12th National Parliament has recommended the Ministry to take necessary steps to determine the economic value of women’s domestic work.
This recommendation was made in a meeting held at Sangsad Bhawan on Monday (April 22) under the chairmanship of committee president Sagufta Yasmin.
In the meeting, the committee member and Minister of State in charge of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Simin Hossain (Rimi), Md. Abdul Aziz, Shahida Tarek Dipti, Parul Akhtar, Moosa. Tahmina Begum, Mohammad Zillur Rahman, Rezia Islam and Sabera Begum participated in the meeting.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the negative report on the Kishore-Kishori Club aired on 71 TV has been proved wrong by the investigation and has recommended the Ministry to write a letter to the CEO of the channel.
Apart from this, the meeting also recommended that the DPP be more realistic in recruiting teachers to expedite the karate training program under the youth club establishment scheme at the union level.
The meeting also recommended to increase the campaign to prevent domestic violence and child marriage and stop sexual harassment.
