In protest of the attack on two doctors, private chambers of doctors and diagnostic centers have been closed since Tuesday morning in Chittagong. Doctors are carrying out this program at the call of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Chittagong.

This program was called from a protest meeting held in front of Chittagong Medical College Hospital last Thursday. Earlier on April 20, Chittagong doctors observed a two-hour strike. As part of the series of programs, private chambers have been closed for 24 hours from six in the morning today, along with lab diagnostic centers and private hospitals, patient admissions have been stopped.

It is to be noted that on April 14, a doctor named Riaz Uddin was beaten up by the patient’s relatives at Chittagong City Medical Center Hospital. Earlier on April 11 another doctor named Raktim Das was attacked in a hospital in Potia. In protest, the doctors are running a series of programs.
