Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has again reduced the price of gold within three days of setting the new price. This information was informed in a circular signed by Bajus Chairman Masudur Rahman.
It is known that the price of the best quality gold or 22 carats (11.664 grams) has been reduced by 3 thousand 138 rupees. The price of one load of good quality gold is 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka. This price has been reduced in view of the reduction in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market.
Bajus said that the new price will be effective from 4 pm today, Tuesday (23 April 2024). On this day Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met and decided to reduce the price.
According to the notification, the price of acid gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 4 pm on Tuesday.
According to the new prices, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced from Tk 3,138 to Tk 1,16,290. And the price of 21 carat gold has been reduced by 3 thousand 9 taka to 1 lakh 10 thousand 995 taka.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 2 thousand 566 taka to 95 thousand 143 taka. And the traditional gold price of one load of gold has been reduced from 2 thousand 76 taka to 76 thousand 586 taka.
However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold ornaments. Because gold ornaments are sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price fixed by Bajus. Also, the minimum wage per shift is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 25 thousand 604 taka to buy a piece of 22 carat gold ornaments from Tuesday.
