The price of gold in the country’s market has been slightly reduced. The price of good quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been reduced by Tk 3 thousand 138 to Tk 1 lakh 16 thousand 290.
This information was informed in a circular signed by Chairman Masudur Rahman of Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Tuesday (April 23).
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 4 pm on Tuesday.
According to the new prices, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 3,138 to Tk 1,16,290. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced by 3 thousand 9 taka to 1 lakh 10 thousand 995 taka.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 2 thousand 566 taka to 95 thousand 143 taka. And the traditional gold price of one load of gold has been reduced from 2 thousand 76 taka to 76 thousand 586 taka. However, Bajus has kept the price of silver unchanged in the country’s market.
Earlier, on April 18, Bajus raised the record price of gold in the country’s market. At that time the fee was increased by 2 thousand 65 taka. The price of gold per 22 carat rose to 1 lakh 19 thousand 638 rupees. Last Saturday, the price of a gold bar of 22 carats was reduced by 840 taka to 1 lakh 18 thousand 798 taka. The next day, Sunday, the price was increased again. The price of one bar of good quality gold increased by Tk 629, in which the price stood at Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 427. After a day, the price of gold fell again on Tuesday.
