The body of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) student Shanto Sahar (22), who died in a motorcycle accident after being hit by a bus, has arrived in Narsingdi. His body reached his home in Sebasangh area of ​​West Kandapara of the city around 6:30 am on Tuesday (April 23). At this time, his family members and relatives burst into tears.

According to family sources, Shanto went to the university campus last Sunday after Eid-Baishakh vacation. Around 4:30 pm yesterday, Shantar’s classmates reported the death of his elder brother Kaushik Sahar, a bank officer, on his cell phone. Shanta is the youngest among the three brothers. His maj brother is a university student in India.

Shantar’s mother Shiuli Saha fainted repeatedly after the body reached home in the morning. Pressing the chest and forehead, and crying. Screaming, ‘I don’t have the golden wheel anymore, I don’t want to live anymore. I will go abroad as an engineer. He said to me, “Mago, I will take you abroad for treatment.” Where did my engineer go? Who will take me abroad? You give law to my polar.’ Relatives and neighbors also started crying after seeing Shanta’s dead body. At this time they consoled Shiuli Saha.

The family members said that they wanted to go to Chittagong to bring Shanta’s body. However, the university authorities assured that after the autopsy, his body will be transported to Narsingdi in a freezing vehicle. His family members requested to hand over the body without post-mortem stating that there is no complaint and they do not want to file a case. After all the procedures, the hearse left for Narsingdi around 10 o’clock on Monday night. The body arrived in Narsingdi town around 6:30 this morning. Two assistant provosts Masum Rana and Samyun Bashir of Shantar Hall and seven classmates brought the body.

Shanta’s school life friend Saikat Shahriar, a student at Chuet, said that Shanto lived in a room on the fourth floor of Bangabandhu Hall in the campus. He was learning how to ride a motorcycle when he came home on vacation recently. The day after returning to campus after vacation (yesterday) there were two classes in the department. In the afternoon, an elder brother of his hall took the motorcycle and went for a walk. Two younger brothers of the department were with him. On the way back, the motorcycle was hit by a bus.

Anil Ghosh, President of Narsingdi District Puja Udyapan Parishad and Commissioner of Ward No. 4 of the city, said, ‘The untimely death of such a brilliant student like Shant Saha cannot be accepted in any way. I can’t even find the words to console his parents. In this way, no mother’s chest should be empty.’

It is to be noted that a bus hit a motorcycle in Jianagar area of ​​Rangunia, Chittagong at around 3:30 on Monday. Shanto Saha, the driver of the motorcycle, was killed. He was a third year student of Civil Engineering Department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology. Motorcyclist Taufiq Hossain died on the way to the hospital. He was a second year student of civil engineering department. Another student Zakaria Himu is undergoing treatment in hospital with serious injuries.
