Dhaka: The price of gold has been reduced in a gap of two days in view of the fall in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market. The best quality or 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold price has been reduced by Tk 3,137.
In this, the price of one bar of good quality gold has become 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka.
Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be implemented from 4 pm on Tuesday (April 23). With the announcement on April 18, the price of one bar of good quality gold was fixed at Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 638 from that day. It broke all previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. A new record was created on that day by increasing the price in a single day.
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting on Tuesday decided to reduce the price of gold. Later this information was informed in a press release signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has decided the new price of gold, which will be effective from 4 pm on Tuesday (April 23).
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 3,137 to Tk 1,16,290. The price of 21 carat gold has been reduced by 3 thousand 10 taka to 1 lakh 10 thousand 994 taka. Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 2 thousand 566 taka to 95 thousand 143 taka. However, the traditional gold price has been reduced by 2 thousand 76 taka to 76 thousand 586 taka.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
Earlier on last April 21, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was increased by Tk 629 to Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 427, the price of 21 carat gold was increased by Tk 606 to Tk 1 lakh 14 thousand 04, and the price of 18 carat gold was Tk 513. An increase of 97 thousand 709 taka and the price of one gold of traditional method has been increased by 420 taka to 78 thousand 662 taka.
Before that, on April 20, the price of best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by Tk 840 to Tk 1 lakh 18 thousand 798, the price of 21 carat gold was reduced by Tk 804 to Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 398, and the price of 18 carat gold was Tk 688. Reduced by 97 thousand 196 taka and the price of a traditional gold bar has been reduced by 560 taka to 78 thousand 242 taka.
Before that, on April 18, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was increased by Tk 2,650 to Tk 1,19,638; the price of a 21 carat gold was increased by Tk 1,994 to Tk 1,14,202; The price of gold has been increased by 1 thousand 656 taka to 97 thousand 884 taka and the price of traditional gold has been reduced by 1 thousand 388 taka to 78 thousand 802 taka.
However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price set by Bajus. Along with that, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay Tk 1 lakh 29 thousand 119 to buy a piece of 22 carat gold jewelery from tomorrow.
