Police recovered the body of a madrasa student named Nusrat (12) from a pond in Daudkandi, Comilla. This incident took place in Bhulirapar area of Gouripur upazila.
The body was recovered from the pond next to the Qari Azgar Ahmad International Islamia Madrasa in Bhullarpar on Tuesday (April 23) at 8:30 am. Nusrat was a 6th class student of that madrasa. She is the daughter of Rabiul, a resident of Hydharkandi village in Vitikandi union of Titas upazila. Her classmates said that the girl was admitted to the madrasa five days ago.
Nusrat’s classmates Fatema and Fahima said that Nusrat and his younger brother were admitted here last Friday. Monday night we sleep together. I got up for Fajr prayer and found Nusrat not in the room. In the morning I heard that it is floating in the pond.
Nusrat’s mother Morsheda Begum said, five days ago I sent my daughter and younger son to the madrasa. Lived here. Today (Tuesday) morning, the masters called me and asked me to come. I heard that my daughter is no longer in the world. He lifted his floating body from the pond. But my daughter knew satar.
Daudkandi Model Police Station OC investigation. Shahidullah said that he got the news through the locals. Preparations are underway to recover the body from the pond next to the madrasa and send it to Comilla for post-mortem.
He also said that he saw CCTV cameras installed in the entire madrasa. Reviewing these and getting the post-mortem report will reveal the mystery.
Meanwhile, due to the intense heat, all educational institutions across the country have been declared a seven-day holiday, but many kindergartens and madrassas in Daudkandi have disobeyed the instructions and remained open, upazila executive officer Md. Arfatul Alam said that action will be taken against the organizations that have violated the instructions.
