A person named Alamgir Shikder (56) died on the streets of Gulistan in the capital. Initially, it is believed that he died of heat stroke.

The incident took place on Tuesday, April 23, around 10 am. When he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state, the doctor declared Alamgir dead at around 11 o’clock.

Pedestrian Anwar Hossain, who took the person to the hospital, said that he went down to Gulistan via Hanif flyover bridge by bus. Gulistan got down in front of the flyover toll plaza and was walking on the road from there. Then suddenly he fell ill on the road. On seeing him, water was first poured on his head. Later he was rushed to the hospital. After that the doctor declared him dead.

Wari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shah Alam came to the hospital to investigate the incident. He said that two pedestrians brought the person to the hospital. Through them a little is known about the incident. Besides, doctors have also been talked to. All in all, it is initially believed that he died of heat stroke due to overheating. His name was known based on the NID card and various phone numbers in his pocket. His family was later contacted.

Abbas Molla, a friend of deceased Alamgir Shikdar, said that Alamgir used to live behind the Jatrabari Kajla petrol pump with his family. He used to work in a printing house in Mirpur. He left home in the morning to go to Mirpur.
