On the street next to Gulistan Toll Plaza in Wari area of the capital. A person named Alamgir Shikder (45) has died. The person is believed to have died of heat stroke due to excessive heat.
On Tuesday (April 23) around 11 o’clock, he was brought unconscious to the Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctor in charge.
Alamgir is the son of Shikdar of dead land in West Sheikhdi area of Jatrabari.
Pedestrian Anwar Hossain said that the person was walking on the side road of Gulistan Toll Plaza in the hot sun this morning. At this time, he suddenly fell unconscious on the side of the road. Later, when he was rushed to the hospital, the doctor said that he was not alive.
He said that the doctors in charge said that initially they thought that he may have died of heat stroke due to excessive heat.
Bachchu Mia, inspector in charge of police camp at DMK Hospital, said that there is a heat alert going on all over the country. But those who are working people, they are forced to go out on the streets because of their stomach. When the man from Wari was brought to the emergency department of DMK, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
He said, through the doctor of the emergency department, he came to know that the person may have died of heat stroke due to excessive heat. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the emergency department of the hospital. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
