A pedestrian named Alamgir Shikder (45) died after falling ill on the road in the extreme heat while walking on the road near Wari Gulistan Toll Plaza in the capital.
This incident happened around 10 am on Tuesday. Later, he was rescued unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 11:30 AM.
The pedestrian who brought him. Anwar Hossain said that while walking by the Gulistan Toll Plaza, he fell ill suddenly and fell on the road. Later we rescued him and rushed him to Dhaka Medical Center where the doctor declared him dead.
Brother of the deceased. Rabiul Alam Shikder said, we got the news and came to Dhaka Medical and found out that my brother died due to heatstroke. My brother used to work in a press in Kajla area of Jatrabari. He was the father of three sons and one daughter.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp Md. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital emergency department morgue and the matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
