Savar (Dhaka): Babita Akhter (37), who was injured in the attack by robbers in Savar’s Ashulia, died while undergoing treatment. She saved her husband with a kidney six months before the attack.

Babita Akhter is the wife of Nadeem Mandal of Mandalbari in Bypail area of Ashulia. She was a housewife by profession. On April 15, while returning home after having dinner at a restaurant with her children, Babita was seriously injured by a robber in the area between Pallividyut and Bypile on the Dhaka-Aricha highway. He died last night around 12:15 while undergoing treatment.
On April 17, Babitar Devar Hriday filed a case as a plaintiff in the robbery incident.
Babita’s son Saju told Banglanews that on April 15, mother, I and my younger sister were returning home by rickshaw after having dinner. When we reached the opposite side of Sohail Square Hospital between Pallibidyut and Bypile on the Dhaka-Aricha highway, two robbers on a moving motorcycle came from the left side and snatched the bag in Amma’s hand. My mother and I got seriously injured when we fell from the rickshaw. My mother got hit on the head and lost consciousness, my leg was sprained. The mother lost consciousness and did not return. I want the kidnappers to be hanged.
Ashulia Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Milon Fakir told BanglaNews that the case has been filed by the victim’s brother-in-law. I heard about the death of Babita Akhtar. The operation to arrest the accused is ongoing.
